昨天，我在学校的队去了一个field

Yesterday, my team at school
went on a field trip. If you don’t know, at our school, each grade
has three teams, and all of the people in those grades are in one
of those teams. Each team has different teachers and field trips
and other stuff. Anyway, yesterday, all the eighth grade teams had
a field trip, but to different places. One team stayed at school
for activities, another went to the Grammy Museum, and my team went
to Theatricum Botanicum, which is a place in the mountains where
they perform plays. I already thought that this field trip would be
pretty boring, since plays are usually really long, and trying to
pay attention for a really long amount of time is pretty hard.
Especially if this play is a Shakespeare play, which are only
interesting if you are really into literature.
The teachers told us to be at
school at 7:45. That’s really early, since on a school day, I
usually wake up at that time. So getting there at 7:45 would be a
little challenging. But luckily, I was able to wake up in time. I
think I was one of the earliest ones there. All of us stood there
waiting around, waiting until it was 7:45 and we could leave. But
we ended up waiting all the way until 8, when we got on the bus.
Then we proceeded to wait 15 more minutes for everyone else to get
on the bus and for them to “get ready” or whatever. There were
three buses, and each silent reading class was paired with another
silent reading class. On the bus ride there, we didn’t really do
much, since everyone was tired and wanted to sleep. But the bus
ride back was a different story.
Anyway, it took almost two hours
to get to the place where we wanted to go. That day was also really
hot, and the bus didn’t have any air conditioning, so we were
really hot, and wanted to get off as soon as possible. We lined up
to go in through the entrance, and as we were going in, a lady
wrote a number on our hands, and I was number 4. We then walked
into the theater, which was outside, which made it hot, but it was
covered, which made it a little better.
We were one of the last classes
to make it there, and there were also other schools there, so it
was pretty packed already. There were some students on the stage
acting some things out, but since we just walked in, I didn’t know
what they were doing. When everyone walked in, they started. At
first, a person acting as Shakespeare walked in, pretending he time
traveled here, and asked us a bunch of questions. After that, we
separated into groups based on the number we got when we came
in.
The majority of the people in my
group were people from my school, so I knew who all of them were.
We were going to do two activities, from a bunch of other
activities, so I hoped that they would at least be kind of
interesting. Our first activity was playing some games. They were
to train our teamwork or whatever. The first game was to count from
one to ten without two people counting at the same time. It sounds
easy, but it was actually pretty hard, and took us a while to
understand.
