Remote desktop connect to Opensuse 11 using xmanager on Windows 7
Host: opensuse 11.3, KDE
Client: windows 7
1, Configuration on Opensuse
I) sudo vi /etc/X11/xdm/Xaccess --> uncomment "#* #any host can get a login window" by deleting "#";
II) sudo vi /etc/X11/xdm/xdm-config --> comment "DisplayManager.requestPort: 0" by adding "!";
III) sudo vi /etc/sysconfig/dispalymanager --> i) change DISPLAYMANAGER_REMOTE_ACCESS="no" to "yes" ii) change DISPLAYMANAGER_ROOT_REMOTE_ACCESS="no" to "yes";
IV) yaST --> Security and Users --> Firewall --> Custom Rules --> External Zone --> Add --> UDP 177 --> Next --> Finish
2, Configuration on Windows
I) install Xmanager 3
II) open xbrowser
III) find the linux host --> right click --> property --> method: Secure XDMCP --> OK
IV) input username and pwd
