linux- 安装firefox

环境：

# cat /etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.4 (Tikanga)

 

桌面系统：GNOME desktop 2.16.0

下载firefox for linux

firefox-3.6.6.tar.bz2

 

解压缩到一目录下，例如/var/tmp

cd /var/tmp

bzip2 -d firefox-3.6.6.tar.bz2

tar -xvf firefox-3.6.6.tar

 

/var/tmp下会有一个firefox 目录

 

把此目录移至/usr/local下

cd /usr/local

mv /var/tmp/firefox .

 

链接到/usr/bin

cd /usr/bin

ln -s /usr/local/firefox/firefox firefox

 

到此我们就可以通过运行 /usr/local/firefox/firefox 来启动运行了

 

下面我们将firefox设置为默认的浏览器

在GNOME桌面系统，system->preferences->more preferences->preferred applications

on internet tab
web browser:

firefox
command:firefox　%s

 

 

创建桌面快捷方式

 

2种方式：

1.

快捷方式名称：firefox

属性(Properties): command: /usr/local/firefox/firefox

2.

快捷方式名称:web browser

属性(Properties): command: htmlview %u
