I want to start a web app based on Eclipse Orion with Tomcat 7 on Mac OS,
Download and install all the apps an plugins which are needed,
Change the Eclipse Orion port to avoid conflict with Tomcat,
Then start the orion server by command line,
Open the link on browser like http://localhost:8080/index.html?username=[yourusername]&password=[yourpassword],
It doesn't work! Throw java servlet exception which tell me to set the system properties:
sun.net.http.allowRestrictedHeaders=true
org.apache.tomcat.util.buf.UDecoder.ALLOW_ENCODED_SLASH=true
As you know, the Mac is not the same as the Windows, so I can not modify the *.bat files to fix this problem.
I tried many methods I searched from the web:
change the CATALINA_OPTS (link) and many other ways (eg stackoverflow) to change the tomcat config to refine the problem, but all in vain.
find the solution from the Apache Tomcat web sitelink 1 link 2
I failed again and again, then I think it over and find:
Why can not to add this properties to orion server?
Then I open the orion server and type:
-Dsun.net.http.allowRestrictedHeaders=true
-Dorg.apache.tomcat.util.buf.UDecoder.ALLOW_ENCODED_SLASH=true
It works!
PS: Do not forget to restart your Tomcat~
